My first flipped classroom experience: It was cool. Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by.      Today, I'm going to talk about my and Şilan's flipped classroom experience. We created an instructional video together for our students. You can reach her blog from  here . The video that we created is embedded below.  At the end of it, there will be a brief test for you.  Picture 1 (the image taken from  here .)           First, let's talk about what flipped classroom is.  A technique for teaching called "flipped classrooms" involves turning established teaching approaches inside out. In a flipped classroom, students interact with readings and lectures outside of class, usually by using videos or internet resources. Students can then apply and reinforce what they have learned on their own by participating in interactive, group activities, debates, and problem-solving during class time.      The flipped classroom model has several benefits and drawbacks.  For language

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG! Hello everyone!   Thanks for stopping by.      I'm Buse Açıkgöz, as you are aware. As an English teacher candidate, I go to Marmara University. I had been posting to this blog for a few months, then I stopped. However, I will start uploading my new pieces on a variety of subjects from now on. Today, I'll be discussing a few activities that my friend Şilan and I designed. Incorporating corpus data, these activities promote the use of technology in the classroom.  At the bottom of the website, you can access the two pages of corpus-based exercises we created and the two pages of guidelines we put together for students to utilize COCA correctly.      I want to start by discussing the activities' source. These exercises are intended to aid in the overall comprehension of the eighth unit, "Emergency and Health Problems," in the English language preparation book for Turkish students. Therefore, the English preparation book is where the concept

My final post : Having this  course was fun. Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by.   Today, I will write my final post to you and reflect on the tasks that have been given to me.   First, we started to write blogs and it was nice. It made me realize that I should have blogged before. I didn't have such opportunities until our educational technology teacher made us blog. I would make my students blog. Then, we wrote film revisions on Wiki. I would give such tasks to my students to work collaboratively. I liked the tool but wouldn’t prefer it for collaborative work. Later, we podcasted. I loved podcasting but it was a bit stressful. I find it beneficial for students because it helps them to improve all four skills speaking, listening, writing, and reading. I would give my students this task. Then, we created our digital poster. I liked doing this. It was easy but wasn’t necessary because you could use templates, and just by changing the names and photos, you could complete it

My first digital storytelling: It was cool. Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by. Today, I'm going to talk about my and Şilan's digital story. We created this video together. You can reach her blog from here . The video is embedded below.  Picture.1 (The image is taken from here .) Our teacher gave us three options on how to create our digital story. We decided to do a how-to video. With our video, we tried to make an origami heart. To make this video, we first made our intro and then recorded our video. Later, we recorded our voices accordingly. We tried different applications and found the best tool which meets our needs. We used Clipchamp to edit the video. I find this task challenging but beneficial. I would give such tasks to my students but also give them an application that they can use. Because the process of searching for it was hard and time-consuming.  This type of task is less suitable for young learners. So, if teachers give them to students, they should ma

My first experience in creating  a digital poster: It was fun. Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by.   Today, I will talk about my first experience in creating a digital poster. I created this poster on my own. You can reach it below. Picture.1 (The image is taken from here .) Our teacher gave us the assignment to create a digital poster. There were topics such as music, fashion, games, and computers. I chose to create an art magazine cover. I found my image and made some research about it. It was an image that is not copyrighted. I used Canva for creating the poster. The process of creating was easy because there are lots of templates that students can make use of in Canva. It offers convenience in many areas.   I find this assignment helpful. It helps students to improve their 21st-century skills. As an English teacher candidate, I would give such tasks to my students. It improves students' skills such as creativity and information fluency. Students can create what they are i
